A Chicago police officer is among the multiple people reported to be injured in a shooting Monday at Mercy Hospital on the city’s South Side.
Chicago police spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said in a tweet that a police officer was in critical condition after being shot in the active shooter incident at Mercy Hospital.
Earlier, he said there were “reports of multiple victims” in the shooting and that at least one possible offender had been shot.
Police did not immediately say how many people were injured and to what extent they were injured. The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately clear.
